Relationship,
Women & Worship
When God created Adam and Eve His greatest joy was fellowship with Him.
This meant living daily through intimate fellowship with the Father. But when Satan brought sin into the world, this
relationship was broken.
Jesus Christ came to restore mankind to an intimate relationship with the Father through the Holy Spirit who now resides
within us. It seems this relationship should automatically make us feel close to God. But what I have found is
that this takes time, desire and commitment. I learned my relationship with God has to be one which requires me
to pursue His heart completely.
As women, we desire love more than any other thing in this world. God created women as unique and delicate individuals to love and to be loved. A woman is gift wrapped with both inner and outer beauty, intricately made to
be gentle and kind, smart and sensible, caring and industrious, wise and faithful.
"A woman's heart should be so lost
in God
that a man needs to seek Him in
order to find her." Barbara Ries
I
often use this quote when ministering to single women about the importance of giving God His rightful place of priority --
making the Lord her purpose and pursuit in life.
It is God’s desire that His daughters know His love and
develop a life of confidence in Him. It is not His will that women enter
into abusive relationships, endure poverty or lack the benefits that a life of freedom in Christ will bring. The
Lord wants women to shift from a victim mentality and powerlessness to victory and prosperity as they learn
to abide in Him.
Quite
simply, abiding in Christ comes by studying His Word along with a true longing
to be romanced by God. It is also
expressed through worship. As created beings we were made for worship. It's a song, a yielded life and an indescribable
feeling of intimacy that is available to us when we seek God in "the secret place." As
you begin to hear His heartbeat your life will become yielded to Christ Jesus with an uncompromised desire
to pursue and to please Him.
Faith - Love - Obedience
Mentoring
- aka, spiritual mothering
Women long for
a mother; one given for the purpose to love them unconditionally. Many women lack this God-ordained influence and
consequently are left to experience life alone. Spiritual mothers stand in the gap to teach and mentor younger
women through stages and seasons of their life. As a result women learn
biblical truth and life principles based on faith, love and obedience with the goal of living a pure and holy life before
God.
Having a spiritual mother will both
bless and prosper a woman's love walk with God. I'm often asked, “How
do I know God’s love and yet not feel it?” Well, the answer
is simple. Some of us have to be taught how to recognize His love as well as
how to receive it. It starts out with ‘self’ (the flesh) but ends
with yielding completely one's life to Christ.
During
mentoring, a woman learns methods on how to draw near to God. She learns the principles and the
practice of purity and holiness in order to live a lifestyle that is pleasing to Him. It's not a complicated or analytical
way of thinking nor is it 10-step program -- it's simple truth according to the Word of God. Abiding in the Lord's
Presence can't be earned, bought or wished for in our lives and it's certainly
nothing magical. But it is a choice. God opens the door to everyone in relationship with Him to enter
into "the secret place."
